Catching up!

Now that summer is long over we are finally able to get around to everything non-wedding. The following are some photos from various shoots we have done in the last couple months, you can tell we're a little behind in our blog updating from the sunshine and green grass in some of the photos!

This little guy's name is Van, after his initial shyness wore off he was soooo easy to photograph as he was full of smiles and easily entertained (as shown with the cardboard box above).

We did some photos for Ryan and Alexis out at Ryan's family's place in Beaumont. These guys were FUN and such good sports considering I made them throw pile after pile of leaves in the air while yelling instuctions such as "Throw the leaves! Now smile! Now do it again!"

This is the Peyton family who I have done photos for in the past. Their little girls Mary and Anna were super cute, very well behaved and made the greatest faces for us. We look forward to doing photos of baby number 3 who is on the way!

I shot Lori and Derek's wedding in September and about a month later had them in the studio to do some photos with their son, Connor. Connor was like a little baby hurricane, he was literally all over the place and into everything, our studio was a complete mess afterwards and I loved it. The last photo here is one of my favourites and was taken near the end of our shoot, you can totally tell that he's tired out and ready for nap.

These are photos taken of Liam and Grayson for their Mom, Jennifer. She wanted photos of them just being themselves, we had a great time with these two and were delighted with how good natured and fun they were. I also happened to bring my puppy with me to the shoot and we all thought it was hilarious when Liam (the youngest) couldn't stop giggling whenever he held her.

Lori and Derek

Lori is a very good friend of mine and so I was really excited when she asked me to do her wedding photos. The ceremony and reception were held at the Pioneer Lodge in Fort Saskatchewan, the ceremony was very touching and I realized the only problem with photographing a friend's wedding is trying to stay dry eyed the entire time! *sniff*

Afterwards we wandered around the town taking pictures, Derek ensured there were no dull moments by climbing trees, swinging on trains and throwing leaves. Fun!

Congrats friends!

Aaron and Kaia

I did some wedding formals for Aaron and Kaia at the Red Brick School in Edson. The weather was beautiful and so we shot a few family portraits outside and then headed inside to make full use of the dance studio! I have to send a big Thank You to the ladies at the Red Brick, they are always very happy to let us use the building and it's such a great location.

A wedding must have are the adorable flower girls that love getting their picture taken!

There was so much colour with the leaves and the red in Kaia's dress. Loved it.

Congraulations Kaia and Aaron!

Kristin and Vince's Wedding

For Kristin and Vince's wedding we headed to Fort Saskatchewan to the river valley for a beautiful ceremony amongst the trees. With the eclectic music and elegant design, their ceremony was definitely a fav for both of us. Although neither of us was prepared for the chilly wind, we kept our cold fingers busy on the camera shutter with all the photo ops! For our bridal party photos, we took off to an old barn where some sweet words coerced a farmer to lend us the use of it for some really fun photos. For the reception we headed back to the Fort to their recreation facility which features some really great staterooms for functions. All in all, we had a fantastic time, and we want to thank the wedding party again for their good natures and for all the laughs.

Ben and Rachel's Wedding

Ben and Rachel were married in Edson, Alberta. We started off with some photos of Rachel getting ready and then headed off to the Red Brick School to take some pre ceremony photos. The Red Brick is a historic building complete with an old schoolroom, a theatre and a dance studio! It's a great location and we had so much fun. After the Red Brick we headed to our ceremony location, a little hall outside of Edson. Minus one wasp in my drink, the evening was wonderful!

Erin

Here are some photos from a shoot we did back in August. Aspen set this up thinking that the rich yellow in the field would look great with our model Erin's pale skin and hair. The effect was stunning and well worth the many bug bites we received!

Jennifer and Joda

For Jen and Joda's wedding we travelled to Innisfail, Alberta for the ceremony which was held in the town's catholic church. The priest was a favorite with his warm humor and personal touches throughout their ceremony. For the reception, we headed a few minutes out of town to a gem of a location, the Maple Dell Acreage. The acreage was a cornucopia of photo opportunities, as the owner paid special attention to each and every detail. (Note the swing wrapped in tulle in the woods!)

Jen's parents

Yay! We're married!

Previously mentioned swing. Just for the record, this is not a photoshop effect. Penny narrowly avoided flailing feet to get this shot.

I had to post this photo because of how ridiculously voyeuristic Penny looks as she sets up our lighting. Plus, Joda looking at the camera makes this picture REALLY hilarious.

A great candid shot from the dance floor.

Congratulations to Jen and Joda, it was a blast tromping around the acreage looking for the perfect shot!
